Gemma Atkinson is an actress, television personality, and glamour and lingerie model from Bury, Great Manchester, England. Gemma got her big start when she starred as Lisa Hunter on the soap opera Hollyoaks, which aired on Channel 4 in England. The series spawned two spinoffs: Hollyoaks: Let Loose, and Hollyoaks: In the City.
Gemma Atkinson has done much more than just this soap opera however. She’s also appeared on other television shows such as Plus One, in which she played herself, and she also appeared in an episode of The Bill, in which she played the girlfriend of a drug dealer. But Gemma can’t be held by television alone and for this reason, she’s also found herself in a few movies as well as onstage in the theatre.
Gemma first played a part in a horror movie called 13 Hrs and from there she starred in a gangster film released in the UK called Baseline. But those weren’t the only movies that Gemma Atkinson was a member of. She also appeared in Boogie Woogie, a film that premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Gemma Atkinson first appeared onstage in Peter Pan, which played at the Manchester Opera House in December 2008. She then appeared in the play Calendar Girls, where she played the role of Elaine at the Noel Coward Theatre. She’s still currently playing in the Calendar Girls, though with a different group, and playing the role of Miss September.
